Star Quilt Pastels on Yellow
Artist: Linda Szabo, Sicangu Lakota
Size: 42 inches x 42 inches
Star quilts in the Lakota culture are made to be given away. Quilts are integrated into every aspect of Lakota life and are used whenever people hold celebrations perceived as traditional to include naming ceremonies, weddings, births, and memorials.
Local artist, Linda Szabo, made this beautiful star quilt. The morning star includes fabric in the colors of lime green, pink, purple, and light blue. The morning star is displayed on a pale yellow background and lime green trim. The fabric on the back of the quilt has a frog pattern. Ployester/cotton blend fabric and fiberfill. Machine washable.
