These earrings have been hand-made with parfleche and a hand-painted design. They measure 1.5 W x 2.75 H inches on silver hooks. They also come with their own matching jewelry box.
Parfleche is an un-tanned animal hide, originally made from buffalo, soaked in lye and water to remove the hair and then dried on stretcher. From the Plains throughout the Northwest, Native American used parfleche to produce shields, drums and, most often, carrying cases. Such cases were called "parfleches".
