Artist: Mitchell Zephier - Sicangu Oyate Lakota
Tatanka or buffalo was held in high regard by the Lakota people. The buffalo was respected as a symbol of the divine because the buffalo was a "banquet" for the people.
This graceful necklace is the standing buffalo that stands tall and mighty. Copper surrounds the buffalo and the buffalo is made of sterling silver. There is a touch of buffalo horn that outlines the face of the buffalo and triple feathers that hang from the bottom.
The pendant measures 1 1/2 inches x 2 3/4 inches long, including feathers. It hangs on a 18 inch silver chain, with the option of making it shorter.
