The elk, hehaka, is the emblem of all beauty, gallantry and protection. The Lakota have a special appreciation of the physical attributes and general qualities of the bull elk. Among them is the mysterious quality for his ability to bugle or whistle in such a manner that the elk cows are irresistibly drawn to him.
Pendant is crafted of sterling silver with white ivory inlay and measures 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" on a 18" long sterling link with a spring clasp.
