Artist: Linda Szabo, Sicangu Lakota
Size: 42 inches x 42 inches
Star quilts in the Lakota culture are made to be given away. Quilts are integrated into every aspect of Lakota life and are used whenever people hold celebrations perceived as traditional to include naming ceremonies, weddings, births, and memorials.
Local artist, Linda Szabo, made this beautiful star quilt. The morning star includes fabric in the colors of white and various purples with flower-patterned fabric. The morning star is displayed on a light purple background with a purple border. The back fabric on the back of the star quilt is patterned with fairy dancers. Ployester/cotton blend fabric and fiberfill. Machine washable.
