Returns and Exchanges

Return Policy

The Akta Lakota Museum is committed to providing products of high quality and value, and we back this commitment with a satisfaction guarantee. If you purchase an item from us that for any reason fails to give complete satisfaction, you may return it to us within 90-days for an exchange or full refund so long as it is new, and unused.

Returns and exchanges are accepted only for items purchased from the Akta Lakota Museum & Cultural Center. Refunds will be applied based on the original method of payment.

If you would like to exchange an item for the same item/size then we can do a straight exchange. However, if you would like to exchange the item for a different item or size, we will first do a return with the original purchase amount refunded to your credit card, followed by a new sale for the replacement item being charged to your credit card.

Free Exchanges

BY MAIL

If you do not have your original receipt, complete a merchandise return form and include it with the items you are returning. We will send the new item out to you and we will pay the shipping.

BY PHONE

To receive your exchange item even faster, simply place your new order at 800-798-3452. We will charge you for the purchase price of your exchange and will waive shipping. Once your return is received we will credit you for the cost of the original item.

Refunds

We will issue refunds using the same method as the original payments. Returns without a receipt or items purchased with a gift card, will be refunded as merchandise credit.

Returns

To return an item, please follow the steps below. Also, be sure to keep a copy of your invoice and mailing receipt for your records.

1.) Print out our on-line return form, or call 1-800-798-3452.

2.) Complete the form.

3.) Indicate next to each item if you want to return or exchange the items.

4.) Ship the package via UPS Ground or USPS. Be sure to insure the package to guarantee it safely reaches us.

The following products may not be returned: used merchandise, special orders, music/DVDs (defective items can be returned for a refund or exchange).
