The buffalo, tatanka was held in high regard by the Lakota people. The buffalo was respected as a symbol of the divinity because the buffalo gave up its own life to feed, clothe and provide everlasting life and transformation.

Designed by Lakota artist, Mitchell Zephier this beautiful mixed metal buckle measures 3 1/4 " wide x 2 1/4" high and is inlaid with natural pipestone and onyx.

Artist's hallmark PVH, Pretty Voice Hawk appears on the reverse side of the piece.
