Sitting Bull: A Stone in My Heart presents an in-depth three-dimensional portrait of a great American Indian leader who fought to the end in order to preserve his people s way of life.

From childhood to his tragic death, the film delves intimately into his life told extensively through his own words and explores his legendary deeds as a warrior, spiritual leader, diplomat and chief of the Hunkpapa tribe of the Sioux Nation.

To ensure historical accuracy two of the foremost historians of the American West served as consultants: Robert M. Utley, author of The Lance and the Shield: The Life and Times of Sitting Bull and former Chief Historian of the National Park Service, and Donald L. Fixico, distinguished Professor of American Indian History at Arizona State University.

This award-winning documentary was an Official Selection at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco, Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Tiburon International Film Festival, Ojai Film Festival and the Fargo Film Festival where it won two awards; 2nd Place for Best Documentary Feature and Best Native American Voices. Screenings at all the festivals were sold-out to capacity audiences.
