Beaded MMIW Earrings
Artist: Laura Comstock, Minniconjou Lakota

Circular earrings are hand-made using seed and gem beads with a feather image symbolizing support for the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women (MMIW) movement. Earrings measure 1-1/2 inches long on kidney-style ear wires.

Beadwork is an art form expressed and practiced throughout Native American Tribes. Beads of various types have been used for beautification by man since the beginning of time. These have taken many forms, such as seeds, shells, claws, bones, and stones.

The Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women (MMIW) movement is a voice for all the missing sisters whose voices are not heard.
